Smooth booking, great experience
My stay in The Roost was really good. Booking online was straightforward; the website was easy to navigate, and I got my confirmation quickly. Check-in was efficient, and the staff were welcoming. We used the outdoor hot tub, which was clean and relaxing. I also booked a facial at the spa, and the therapist was very professional. The Great Barn Restaurant offered a delicious dinner with fresh ingredients. My only minor point would be that the Wi-Fi in the barn was a little spotty at times, but it didn't really detract from the overall peaceful atmosphere. Delivery of our local produce hamper to the room was prompt. Everything else was spot on.
Chilled weekend away
Me and my partner stayed in The Hive for a couple of nights, and it was just what we needed. The place was super cozy, and the bed was really comfy. We went for a walk around the grounds, which was nice, and had a massage at the spa – felt totally relaxed afterwards. The breakfast was yum too. It was just a really nice vibe, very laid back. Definitely felt refreshed after it all.
Good value mid-week stay
I booked a mid-week stay package for The Piggery and felt it was pretty good value. I was looking for a decent deal, and this package included breakfast, which saved us some money. The room was nice, and the sauna access was a bonus. Compared to other places I checked, this seemed like the best option for what I wanted to spend. Worth the price paid.
Nice quiet break
Stayed in The Den. Very peaceful. Good food at the restaurant. Spa access was relaxing. Enjoyed the country walks. Quick check-in. Would return.
Pleasant stay, some minor points
We booked a short stay in The Nest for an autumn break. The barn itself was lovely, well-decorated and clean, and the bed was comfortable. The spa facilities, particularly the steam room, were excellent. We had dinner at The Great Barn Restaurant one evening; the food was tasty, but service was a little slow, even though it wasn't overly busy. The complimentary bicycle hire was a nice touch, though some of the bikes could use a bit of maintenance. Overall, a very good experience for relaxation, just a couple of small things could be tightened up.
Always a great escape
Another fantastic stay at Retreat East. We booked The Cow Shed again, just like last year, and it was consistently excellent. The barn was spotless, and the bed was as comfortable as I remembered. We also tried the new wellness rituals this time, which was a lovely addition. It's why we keep coming back – you know exactly what you're getting, and it never disappoints. Already planning our next visit.
